Summer Bucket List

Hey everyone!  I have done some improvement to this blog of mine and will continue to work on it throughout the next several weeks.  I am doing this on my own and am finding it difficult to design on my own.  Your suggestions and tips are greatly appreciated throughout this process.

I have linked up with Natalie from What the Teacher Wants to participate in her summer bucket list.  There are no concrete goals for this year since it is my first summer with no graduate classes.  I honestly just want to relax and see what happens.  However, here is my bucket list!

School:
I would like to spend some time this summer reorganizing my classroom and setting up for a big year ahead of me.  I do not want to begin so early because I am in the process of possibly transferring or moving schools.  I am trying to move on to bigger and better things so that my life can start to fall into place.  I do however want to begin looking at possible ideas of how to set up my classroom, themes I might want to incorporate, and various classroom organizational skills.  (Like I am not already organized!)

During the beginning of each summer, while it is still fresh on my mind, I enjoy going through all my worksheets, tests, quizzes, and file them into their desired binders that I have created throughout my four years there.  I have not filed much on the math aspect of things, but social studies I have kept up-to-date with all organizing of papers.  So I need to buckle down in the next several weeks and get them completed before my vacationing starts.

Personal:
Several of my personal goals are things that I have been trying to work on throughout this past year and have begun slacking again due to the beautiful weather.  I want to make sure that I stay true to my exercise regiment.  So I am looking to get back in the gym, more outside running, and of course those long walks hand in hand with my love.  To go along with the exercise, I am working on eating healthier.  My love and I have been experimenting with various meals and find ourselves cooking more often for each other than going out!  I am making him a lovely pork fajita dinner in the crock pot as I type this up.  It is smelling up the place and is making me extremely hungry!  Yummy!

As my life starts coming together, I realized that I need to start planning for my future and looking for a way to get out of my parents house and into my own apartment.  I love my parents dearly and admire them for all the help they have given me the last several years while I have been trying to get on my feet, but it is time that I begin my own life.  I have been looking for places to live and want to settle.  I am hoping that during this summer break that I can focus in on finding the right place to move into and settle down just in time to begin the next school year.

Lastly, I was very inactive throughout the year that I have not had time to post on my blog.  Since I have not been on here in a while, I thought it was only fair to start fresh.  So I gave my blog a new name and will really focus on my TpT store this summer.  I would love to add more products to my already successful games, foldables, and lessons.  Now I have been working very hard to update my blog and create everything myself.  I am hoping with help from you all, I can create the blog that I want.

Fun:
This summer is going to be MY summer!  This is going to be a time to relax, read, and just have fun.  I have various vacation ideas booked and planned.  The last week of June to the beginning of July, I will be going with my love to Florida.  I am excited to get away from PA and getaway to this beautiful vacation spot.  In addition, we have brewery and winery tours planned during the weekend.  We will end our summer with a camping trip.  He loves the beach, and I love camping.  He has never camped before in a tent and is not accepting the idea very well.  I just need to show him how much fun it is sitting at the bonfire, roasting smores, and enjoying nature.  Through this summer, I would love to expand my travels by going to three new locations.  We are already going to DuClaw (Maryland), Fort Meyers (Florida), and now I am just looking for a third location here on the east coast.  Any ideas on places to visit or things to do?

  1. In Maryland, Deal Island and Tilghman Island are a little off the beaten path, but nice places. In Pennsylvania, Cherry Springs State Park (north of Williamsport) is amazing! It's the darkest spot on the east coast and you can see stars like nothing you've ever seen before! People are very friendly and share telescopes, and the park rangers share their knowledge of the night sky. Really cool place!

    1. I will have to try Cherry Springs State Park. We are looking for places that are kind of local to us (Lehigh Valley area) for a weekend camping trip. It will be my boyfriend's first time camping so I want to make sure that if he does not like it, we are close to home.

Thank you so much for the advice!

  2. I am from Southwest Florida...Naples area. I hope you had a great time on your trip. I live in the Panhandle now. A lot of people camp at St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach where I live.

    1. Alison,
Thank you so much! We had a wonderful time in Florida. We went through or passed signs for Naples. We changed flights in Miami and then landed in Tampa. We enjoyed our time at one brewery and then I fell asleep on the ride to Cape Coral. Next year I am definitely looking for jobs in Florida. It is so beautiful down there!
